It is possible when you had the accident, you were in between life and death when you experienced this. Maybe what you saw was something beyond our realm and the spiritual realm. If this is what happened, it was real and you did experience it, thank God you survived it and came back. There are others who hang between life and death share their experiences, some are terrifying like your experience and some experience going to heaven.

I lived in the Adirondacks my entire life, there are a lot of places that have had tragedy and death, abandoned villages- as well as lots of water, granite boulder fields and old abandoned mines- I’ve experienced some strange experiences but have never actually seen anything- I explore different wilderness areas around the park- 6.5 million acres of wilderness- The history in this area, indigenous and settler’s history is fascinating and dates back hundreds of years- I’ve encountered several black bears while exploring and camping- I’ve also had my own encounters as a teenager, growing up inside the park- I’m more afraid of people while I’m in the woods, than I am of the local wildlife- they’re predominantly predictable, humans aren’t- Robert Garrow- Adirondack Serial killer

I was not ready to the rage I felt for that creature when I heard what it did to the cat. I felt just like the OP, my cat began comforting be about it. I recently grabbed a cat I thought had escaped her home, her name was also Luna and she was super sweet. My brain immedietly connected that cat with the one I picked up and went "how fng dare you!" (Cat was an indoor out doorcat and is now back with her owner)
